Pathfinder Ranch Administrative Staff
Shari’s wandering soul originates in Florida, but she came to Pathfinder Ranch by way of Kentucky, Maryland, Arizona, and Montana. Shari received her B.S in Equine Physical Therapy from Midway College in 2008 and began her nomadic tendencies immediately thereafter to seek out new work experiences in the Equine Industry and later, the Outdoor & Adventure Education Field.
She’s a renaissance woman at heart so she divides her time between an eclectic array of hobbies; but if you can’t find Shari on the ranch, she’s probably disappeared into the mountains with her horse, Risk, or she’s rock climbing on a nearby crag.
Outdoor Education Director
Ryan grew up near Los Angeles, California, and he has stayed in California most of his life besides short travels to Hawaii, Japan, Australia, Ecuador, and Europe. His collegiate life took him north to UC Santa Cruz where he developed a passion for SCUBA diving and the ocean. After years of working as a park ranger, naturalist, and other education positions he returned to his Southern California stomping grounds to work at Pathfinder Ranch. He loves every minute of being up here on the mountain, having four seasons, and getting outside of course!
For his first year and a half at Pathfinder Ranch he was completing his M.S. in Ecological Teaching and Learning through Lesley University. Online classes kept him busy during the school year, but many of his assignments required him to get outside, plus he got to visit some beautiful places in Maine and Massachusetts during the summer portions of the program. After graduating he has filled the extra time with gardening, taking care of his new dog, Stella, and reading.
